Welder/Fabricator

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour (based on experience)

Shift: 8–10-hour day shifts, no nights.

Core Responsibilities:

· Perform FCAW to join structural steel components.

· Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.

· Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and chamfering surfaces.

· Visually inspect completed welds for quality.

· Follow all safety protocols and use required PPE.

· Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment.

· Apply welding procedures, including preheat and post-weld treatments.

· Use hoists and cranes to position steel members.

· Operate welding tools and equipment safely.

· Use hand tools to set up and adjust equipment.

Core Competencies:

· Welding Proficiency – Skilled in various welding machines, power sources, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

· Safety Practices – Knowledge of welding safety procedures, fire prevention, ventilation, and equipment handling.

· Attention to Detail – Ensures weld precision, quality, and defect detection.

· Mechanical Aptitude – Proficient with tools and equipment used in welding operations.

· Blueprint Reading – Able to interpret shop drawings and apply weld specifications accurately.

· Physical Stamina – Capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting, confined space work, and long periods of standing.

· Tool Experience – Regular use of hand tools, power tools, welding gear, measuring tools, and lifting equipment.

Education and Experience:

Required:

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Minimum age: 18 (

· Welding, fabrication, or manufacturing experience

· Weld test required.

· Knowledge of welding tools, flat/horizontal/vertical positions.

· Overhead crane, rigging, and forklift experience.

· Strong communication skills.

· Able to handle physical workload and lift 50+ lbs.

Other:

· Pre-employment drug screen required

· Steel-toed boots required

· Uniforms provided after 6 months.

Working Environment and Conditions:

- Physical Demands: This position involves regular movement (sitting, standing, bending) around the facility, frequent use of hands and arms, and clear verbal and written communication. It also includes office work and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

- Work Environment: This position involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional outdoor conditions, with a typically moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodation is available for individuals with disabilities.

Full Time Hours of Operation:

- 6:45AM to 3:30PM Monday-Friday (40 Hour Schedule)

- 5:45AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday (50 Hour Schedule)

- 5:45AM to 10:45 AM Saturday (55 Hour Schedule)

- Overtime as scheduled, typical workweek runs between 40-55 hours.
