Waterworks Product Specialist

SUMMARY:

The primary focus of this position is to serve as the subject matter expert on water works products, acting as the go-to resource for internal teams, customers, and regulatory bodies. The Product Specialist will support technical inquiries, assist the sales team with application-specific recommendations, and help ensure that product specifications are aligned with customer needs. Additional responsibilities include conducting product training for both internal and external stakeholders, maintaining clear communication with regulatory agencies, and traveling with sales personnel when needed to provide on-site support and expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries from customers, sales staff, and regulatory agencies.

- Provide application-based product recommendations tailored to customer requirements.

- Deliver technical training sessions to internal employees and external customers.

- Assist in the interpretation and communication of industry regulations affecting product usage and compliance.

- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to relay customer feedback and enhance product offerings.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials.

- Participate in the creation of product specifications and ensure they are aligned with industry standards.

- Cross train and provide support for other products within the Water Works product line.

- Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of product-related issues in the field.

- Stay current on industry trends, competitive products, and evolving customer needs.

- Maintain strong relationships with customers by providing timely support and follow-up.

- Lead quotation and configuration efforts in collaboration with Sales and Engineering.

- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events as needed.

- Prioritizes a people-first approach while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.

- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth accounting operations.

- Balances technical expertise with a service-oriented attitude.

- Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Sales, Business, or a related field preferred.

- 2–4 years of experience in a technical support, product specialist, or application engineering role.

- Familiarity with water works products is highly desirable.
