Water Treatment Plant Operator/ Field Technician

A local rural water producer/ distributor in the Robinson, IL area is looking to fill a key career position within their organization. This full-time position will be responsible for the daily operation of a 1.2 mgd treatment facility, as well as other routine daily activities including customer service, electronic meter reading, IEPA routine sampling, minor meter repair, JULIE locates and other various system maintenance items. Said person shall be a self-starter, hardworking, dependable and shall have the ability to complete all required tasks with little supervision after initial training is completed. Said candidate will be REQUIRED, after completing specified operator training hours, to obtain a CLASS C WATER OPERATOR LICENSE with the Illinois EPA. Hardinville Water Company will assist with this process to obtain specified license. Candidate must be available to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays and provide 24 hour a day emergency on-call service. An Illinois driver's license is required.

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, occasional bending, stooping, crouching, and kneeling, climbing down into areas below ground including water booster stations and reaching above shoulder level. Occasional lifting up to 80 lbs and frequent carrying of up to 60lbs. Exposure to treatment chemicals and ability to use respirators and breathing devices if required.

The successful candidate shall submit their resume, along with previous five-year work experience, including salary history, which should specifically address how their qualifications match the required training and work experience. Also, include at least three references that are work related references. Strong computer skills are required and a minimum of an associate's degree in a related field are preferred. The organization shall reserve the right to waive any and all qualifications as listed for the successful candidate. The successful candidate may be required to relocate to the service area. This position includes paid holidays, and paid vacation time. Qualified applicants must live within 10 miles of the company owned distribution system within two months of start date.
