As a Facility Operator, you will be responsible for the safety and training of Assistant Operators and Ramp Hands. Your primary focus is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility on a daily basis. This will be achieved through effective communication and documentation of potential hazards using daily safety meetings, FLHAs, hazard assessments, and other company protocols.
Facility Operators are expected to perform day-to-day maintenance on facility equipment safely and independently. Progression through the company’s safety management program—including online training, competency exams, and adherence to policies and procedures—may lead to promotion and/or additional compensation.
· Ensure all employees are clocking in and out on time.
· Monitor hardness levels in the processing tank.
· Document and execute all plant maintenance safely and efficiently without supervision.
· Ensure daily start-up and shut-down checklists are completed.
· Ensure safe loader operations and yard maintenance (e.g., fixing ramps, clearing bins).
· Assist managers with inventory and supply management.
· Maintain constant communication with Ramp Hands and Assistant Operators to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
· Supervise, organize, and train Assistant Operators and Ramp Hands to ensure plant efficiency.
· Maintain good housekeeping in and around the facility.
· Identify, document, and eliminate potential risks and hazards.
· Participate in daily safety meetings and promote a safe work environment for all employees.
· Ensure after-hour customer emergencies are managed efficiently (including occasional weekends and night shifts).
