Water Jet, Laser Table Laborer

(Location: Calgary, AB) Aaron Machine Shop is looking for Waterjet/Laser Table Laborer to join our team.

JOB PURPOSE

Perform general labour duties, light-maintenance, material and equipment handling, and cleaning around the shop. Train on and/or operate water jet table and laser table machines.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Check in with supervisor in the morning for a job schedule and list of priorities general labour duties including small-medium hand tool usage, small drilling / tapping, grinding, moving and lifting items

· Receive maintenance and cleaning duties from managers/foreman

· Clean the shop according to regular schedule or high priority items

· Perform light-maintenance duties on existing machines and equipment. This may include de-greasing, oil changes, coolant changes, wiping down equipment

· Load / unload material into waterjet/laser table

· Secure / unsecure material on waterjet/lasertable

· Perform routine and light-duty maintenance on waterjet/laser tables

· Operate drill press

· Operate grinders & deburring equipment

· Operate automatic saw

· Operate overhead and jib cranes

· Operate forklift and pallet jack

· Operate all machines according to manufacturer specifications and formal hazard assessments

· Complete quality control on finished parts

· Materials and equipment handling

· · Small – medium hand tool usage

· Disposal of scrap metal materials

· Maintain a clean and organized workspace

· General housekeeping duties

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·· Experience with Omax waterjet tables and laser table considered an asset·

· Good understanding of manufacturing facility atmosphere

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· This job is in a machine shop atmosphere with several lathes, mills, saws, drills, grinders, cranes, and waterjet and laser tables

· handle metal and plastic components (includes steel, aluminum, copper, bronze, nylon, delrin, UHMC, lexan, etc.)

· Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times (steel toes, eye protection, ear protection)

· This job requires some medium lifting and ability to maneuver around machinery and equipment

· Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
