Overview
This position plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain operations of our organization. This position is responsible for managing the receipt of goods, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.
Duties
•Receive and inspect incoming shipments for all City Departments for accuracy and quality.
•Record and report discrepancies or damages to management.
•Utilize warehouse management systems to update inventory records promptly.
•Organize and store received items in designated locations within the warehouse.
•Collaborate with transportation management teams to coordinate deliveries.
•Assist in inventory control by conducting regular stock counts and audits.
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
•Support dispatching activities as needed, ensuring timely shipping of outgoing goods.
Skills
•Proficiency in warehouse management systems to track inventory and shipments effectively.
•Must be able to pick up and move around packages up to 35 lbs and heavier items by floor jack or forklift.
•Knowledge of transportation management principles to facilitate efficient logistics operations.
•Familiarity with materials management processes to ensure proper handling of goods.
•Understanding of transportation planning concepts for effective delivery scheduling.
•Experience with demand planning techniques to anticipate inventory needs.
•Ability to work with third-party logistics (3PL) providers for streamlined operations.
•Skills in dispatching to coordinate the movement of goods efficiently.
•Competence in using transportation management systems for tracking shipments.
•Strong background in inventory control practices to maintain accurate stock levels.
•Knowledge of production planning processes to align inventory with manufacturing needs.
