Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Manager

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

SUMMARY: The Shipping and Receiving/Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, including the receiving, storage, and shipping of materials and products. This role ensures that warehouse operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals. The Shipping and Receiving/Warehouse Manager will manage inventory accuracy and optimize logistics processes to achieve operational excellence. You will also be responsible for meeting customer expectations with the highest level of service as you deliver goods and services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping and Receiving Management:
+ Ensure timely and accurate receipt and shipment of goods. + Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and logistics partners to ensure reliable delivery services. + Coordinate shipping schedules to meet production and customer delivery requirements. + Ensure all processes support and follow LEAN manufacturing practices.
Inventory Control and Accuracy:
+ Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accurate tracking of materials and products. + Implement inventory control measures to minimize errors, shrinkage, and obsolescence. + Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy. + Analyze data to determine and allocate resource requirements quantity your decisions, and report on KPI’s.
Safety and Compliance:
+ Ensure all warehouse operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. + Implement safety programs and conduct regular training to promote a safe work environment. + Monitor and enforce compliance with handling and storage procedures for materials and products.
Operations Management:
+ Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management. + Ensure alignment between warehouse processes and the company’s strategic objectives. + Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. + Work closely with procurement and production to ensure smooth operations. + Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support operational goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
+ Ensure the training and mentoring of a team of warehouse staff + Conduct performance evaluations, set goals and expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development. + Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working conditions are normal for an office environment, minimal noise with temperature controls.
Occasional exposure to the manufacturing environment including exposure to seasonal temperature changes, loud noises, and moving machinery.
Some travel between company owned properties may be required.
Periodic weekend and/or evening work is expected.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when in the manufacturing facility to include but not limited to, safety glasses, steel toe foot protection, hearing protection, and hard hats.


QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related.
Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments efficiently and clearly.
Experience with inventory management systems and ability to keep up with a fast-paced environment – managing competing priorities.
