Utility Electric Meter Installer/Installateur de Compteurs

We are conducting electric meter upgrades in the Saint John area for NB Power, and are hiring Full Time Temporary Electric Meter Installers! Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean criminal and driving history. Project is expected to run for approximately 9 months. NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

All of our field staff are provided with:

- Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.

- After the initial classroom training and field training (Paid hourly), employees will be transitioned to being paid on a piece work basis which allows most of our employees to earn in excess of $21/hr.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for installing single phase electric meters by replacing an existing meter (change-out). The new meter and meter module are installed to automate the process of reading a meter for accurate consumption and billing.

Requirements:

- Valid driver’s license

- Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: background check and driving record

- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

- Must be able to walk up to 5-10 km per day

Working Conditions and Hours:

- Day shift hours, Monday-Friday

- Outdoor work environment

- Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities:

- Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests

- Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
