About the role:

As a Treatment Plant Assistant Operator, you will support the safe and reliable operation of Unitywater’s sewage treatment and recycled water plants across the Kawana, Landsborough and Maleny locations. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside Treatment Plant Operators to help ensure treatment processes meet required standards.

You will assist with day-to-day plant operations, including monitoring processes through SCADA, collecting samples, maintaining operational records, and completing general housekeeping and grounds maintenance to keep sites safe and operational.

Unitywater supports career development in wastewater operations, offering training, development opportunities, and support to obtain relevant qualifications. When appropriately trained, you will also participate in after-hours operational support.

Safety is a core focus, and you will play an active role in maintaining a safe workplace by following safety procedures, reporting hazards and incidents, and contributing to a Zero Harm culture.

- A Certificate III in Wastewater Treatment or a willingness to complete it within two years (with Unitywater support)

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and good time management

- The ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and adapt in a changing operational environment

- A current C Class Driver Licence
