Traveling Maintenance Technician

TMS is currently looking for a Traveling Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will have the ability to perform welding/ fabrication, mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work in accordance with factory and industry standards, while meeting company goals.

Schedule: 3 weeks at a time

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and scrap cutting equipment issues.

- Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

- Collaborate with production teams to identify maintenance needs and improve equipment reliability.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

- Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance staff.

- Ability and willingness to travel up to 100%, including overnight stays.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.

- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

- Proficient in welding (MIG/TIG), fabrication, and machining.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.

- Valid Driver’s License

- Must be able to successfully complete background screen and a physical examination that includes a drug and alcohol pre-employment screen.
