Powertech Associates is a manufacturers' rep agency that offers the latest products and solutions available in the electric utility industry. Utility Power Supply Company is the distribution subsidiary that services the customers of Powertech Associates as well as customers all over the country. We have an office and warehouse located in Farmington, CT where we have local stock for several of the manufacturers that we represent. We are seeking a highly motivated, professional, and self-sufficient Territory Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. This is a relationship-driven, outside sales position focused on expanding our presence and generating revenue with electric utilities and municipalities.
The ideal candidate will excel in operating with significant autonomy while remaining aligned with company goals and sales strategy. Success in this role depends on strong interpersonal skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to uncover and grow new business opportunities through disciplined sales execution.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including IOU, municipal utilities, and channel partners
· Identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities across a broad product portfolio.
· Conduct on-site customer visits, deliver product presentations, and provide field training, with occasional overnight travel required
· Partner with manufacturers to support specifications, quotes, training, and sales strategy.
· Drive product approvals and support customer engagement in pilot programs and rollouts.
· Stay informed on market developments, customer needs, and competitor positioning.
· Represent Powertech Associates at relevant industry events, trade shows, and utility conferences.
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
· Demonstrated success in outside sales, preferably within the electrical utility, manufacturing, or industrial markets.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on relationship-building.
· Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities independently.
· Capable of delivering technical presentations and communicating product value effectively.
· Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (field-based with some remote work)
· Willingness to travel throughout New England and occasionally to surrounding regions for meetings, training, and trade shows.
