Located in the Cobourg plant and reporting to the Lead; Technologist, the position involves the following activities:
- Analyze performance and provide technical solutions to improve equipment reliability
- Work with operations and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Participate in equipment related root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and document safety, quality and reliability improvement projects
- Identify and support continuous improvement activities
- Take ownership of assigned work and develop independence in the role
- Availability for shift work is required; a core of 5 days, 3 shifts is expected in support of a 7 day per week, 24 hour per day operation.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering Technology
- 2-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with automation equipment
- A high level of mechanical aptitude
- Experience with machine control systems and robotics – AB Logix and Fanuc preferred
- Understanding of job hazard analysis
- Familiar with machine vision applications and related hardware
- OACETT Certified Engineering Technologist designation
- Experience in Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and the application of Statistical Process Control
- Training in Root Cause Analysis Tools
- Understanding, Development and Maintenance of Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis
