TECHNICAL SPECIALIST I, STIMULATION LABORATORY SERVICES – CALGARY (CA2)
The Technical Specialist I, Stimulation Laboratory Services will conduct entry level tests and analyses to support field operations efforts.
- Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities
- Perform basic laboratory testing without supervision
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory testing equipment as directed
- Conduct various general laboratory duties as requested such as calibration, maintenance, and cleanup
- Comply with all laboratory procedures and policies while performing functions within the laboratory environment
- Present blend recommendations to internal coordinators, technical services, and sales departments as required
- Participate in an on call rotation for after-hours laboratory duties as well as provide assistance or advice at any given time
- Prepare various reports and documents based on analysis of various laboratory tests
- Stay current with all API specifications and industry guidelines
- Provide technical support to various internal Trican contacts
- Deliver presentations as required to technical services and sales
- Post-secondary education with preference to a Degree or Technical Certificate related towards the Petroleum Industry
- Minimum three years industry-related laboratory experience
- General technical and practical knowledge of stimulation operations, company policies, and government regulations
- Knowledge of the various additives applied in fracturing and acidizing blends
- Admirable interpersonal skills conveyed in a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with employees, management, and customers
- Sound analytical and interpretational skills
- Skilled in applying problem-solving techniques to complications that may arise
- Skilled in verbal and written communication
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing working conditions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with a high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, at a fast pace, and produce quality work
