Job Summary:
The Technical Solution Expert oversees the full technical lifecycle of Rigid Robotics’ Operator Augmentation deployments, including pre-sales technical support, solution architecture, server and cloud configuration, networking and security alignment, and on-site installation at mine sites. In partnership with the Business Development Executive, this role supports customer discovery calls, technical evaluations, and proposal development by defining deployment architectures, pilot scopes, and integration requirements. The Technical Solution Expert performs commissioning, diagnostics, and ongoing system maintenance to ensure stable, secure, and high-performance operation. Acting as a technical liaison to customers, product, and engineering teams, this position gathers operational feedback, supports feature validation, and contributes directly to accelerating product adoption and product-market fit.
a. Partner with the Business Development Executive to support customer discovery calls, technical presentations, and solution design discussions.
b. Provide technical input to proposals, pilot scopes, statements of work, deployment plans, and customer security reviews.
c. Assess customer environments (IT/OT, network, security, site constraints) and define technical requirements for pilots and deployments.
d. Support proof-of-concept and pilot planning by validating feasibility, architecture, and integration approaches.
a. Lead deployment of the Rigid Robotics solutions at mine sites, including hardware installation, server setup, networking, and system configuration.
b. Perform commissioning, calibration, functional testing, and system acceptance activities.
c. Work with customer IT, OT, and operations teams to integrate the solution into existing site infrastructure.
a. Configure and maintain solution servers, cloud environments, edge systems, and data pipelines.
b. Set up secure connectivity including VPNs, firewalls, authentication, and access controls aligned with customer security requirements.
c. Monitor system health, performance, uptime, and data integrity.
a. Provide remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for deployed customer systems.
b. Coordinate with engineering teams on complex issues, bug fixes, and system improvements.
c. Maintain clear documentation of incidents, root causes, and corrective actions.
a. Train customer operators, IT/OT teams, and site personnel on system use, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
b. Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout pilots and early commercial deployments.
c. Support development of technical documentation, deployment guides, and training materials.
a. Gather technical and operational feedback from customers to inform product enhancements and roadmap prioritization.
b. Support field validation of new features, updates, and system improvements.
c. Translate customer requirements into actionable inputs for product and engineering teams.
a. Plan and manage deployment schedules, resource needs, and technical deliverables for pilots and early production rollouts.
b. Maintain deployment documentation, configuration records, and site-specific system architectures.
c. Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards.
- 3–7 years of experience in technical deployment, solutions engineering, field engineering, or systems integration roles.
- Hands-on experience with server, cloud, and edge computing environments, including Linux-based systems.
- Working knowledge of networking and security, including VPNs, firewalls, authentication, and secure data access.
- Experience deploying, commissioning, and supporting industrial or enterprise software solutions in customer environments.
- Ability to support technical pre-sales activities, including customer discovery calls, architecture discussions, and technical input to proposals and pilot scopes.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across software, infrastructure, and network layers.
- Experience working directly with customers in operational or field environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel to mine sites and customer locations.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with ambiguity, autonomy, and fast iteration.
- Experience in mining, heavy equipment, industrial automation, or IoT environments.
- Familiarity with open-pit mining operations, shovel or excavator systems, or operator-assist technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtualization, and/or containerized deployments.
- Prior role as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Field Application Engineer supporting complex B2B technology sales.
- Exposure to AI/ML-enabled products, sensor-based systems, or real-time data pipelines.
- Experience working with OEMs, integrators, or industrial distribution partners.
- Ability to contribute to system architecture design, deployment standards, and scalability planning.
- Experience creating technical documentation, deployment guides, and training materials.
- Background in cybersecurity, OT networks, or industrial IT/OT integration.
