Dyson Corporation seeks a proved and driven Technical Sales Engineer to accurately estimate the cost and scope for CNC machined components and forgings for a manufacturer of large specialty fasteners and forgings used in Heavy Construction, Infrastructure, Power Generation, and General Distribution. Someone who can also act as a technical liaison to address manufacturability inquiries by customers, and to define scope of work for suppliers.
- Estimating labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for quotation (RFQ) data submitted by customers.
- Review and analyze RFQ’s to ensure they meet all requirements.
- Calculate production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.
- Determine if additional information is required for quote submittal.
- Determine if due dates will be met and recommend extension if required.
- Analyze prints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Use historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects.
- Review with other departments to develop estimates and resolve issues.
- Work with team to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with processes and equipment used within a manufacturing environment
- Organized with a systematic approach to achieving accuracy and cost control
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of EPICOR or equivalent ERP systems typical to manufacturing preferred.
- MS Office/Excel experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred but not required or else 5- 10 years of technical sales experience in the forging or fastener industries required.
