We are seeking a Sales & Application Engineer with either electrical component knowledge or inside sales experience. An engineering degree is not required. This rewarding opportunity involves direct engagement with customers—primarily utilities and industrial facilities—seeking to purchase electrical components such as low and medium voltage motor controls and switchgear.
Your primary responsibility is developing quality proposals that meet customers’ product needs and ultimately win business by delivering strong customer support and meeting key timelines. Responsive customer service is essential, as support may continue post-delivery. You will manage several customers daily, requiring excellent time management and the ability to meet promised deadlines. This role requires working effectively both independently and in a team environment while managing your opportunity pipeline and related proposal activities.
- Manage customer opportunities and organize details within the company’s systems and files.
- Review and identify RFQ details.
- Meet due dates and key project milestones.
- Continuously learn new skills, including interpreting electrical technical drawings and using vendor/employer-specific software.
- Follow the established proposal process.
- Manage all proposal build-up activities including team tasks, milestones, and deadlines to capture scope and costs.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and customers on scope details and clarifications.
- Submit effective proposals that capture RFQ scope and timelines.
- Process and administer all customer purchase orders and changes throughout the order-delivery cycle.
- Work effectively with Business Development to exchange critical information and follow up on tasks.
- Support annual sales targets and marketing objectives to meet business goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry, company products and capabilities, competitor portfolio, and company differentiators.
- Ensure all customer communications meet company standards, content, and format.
- Technical degree or inside sales experience preferred.
- Strong customer support skills.
