Harvest has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Specialist
, reporting to the Team Lead, Supply Chain Management. The Supply Chain Specialist will support day-to-day supply chain activities, including procurement, contracting, vendor coordination, stakeholder support, and compliance with internal SCM procedures. This is a full-time contract position based out of the Calgary Corporate Office.
- Support contract administration activities, including contract review, amendments, extensions, renewals, document coordination, and internal approval routing.
- Review contract requirements and assist with preparing or coordinating Contract Request Forms, amendments, service agreements, and related supporting documentation.
- Process Service Orders, Purchase Orders, and other SCM requests based on approved requirements, scope, commercial terms, and internal procedures.
- Review vendor submissions, pricing, rate sheets, and commercial documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the review and validation of transportation-related charges, including fuel surcharges / FSC, freight rates, and related supplier billing or commercial terms.
- Coordinate with vendors, internal stakeholders, Operations, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and other departments to resolve SCM-related questions or issues.
- Ensure sourcing, contracting, and procurement activities are completed in accordance with Harvest’s Sourcing & Procurement Procedures, Delegation of Authority, and internal approval requirements.
- Assist with sourcing activities, including market research, supplier engagement, RFx support, single-source documentation, bid evaluations, and supplier negotiations.
- Support cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives through effective supplier engagement, price review, negotiation, and commercial analysis.
- Monitor supplier performance, spend, contract status, pricing, and compliance requirements, and escalate issues as required.
- Support SCM reporting, data entry, tracking, document control, and maintenance of contract/vendor records.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, including process updates, templates, reporting tools, and workflow improvements.
- Provide support to the SCM team and business stakeholders as needed in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform other SCM-related duties and special assignments as directed by the Team Lead, SCM.
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant procurement, contracts, supply chain, or SCM experience.
- Direct oil and gas supply chain experience is preferred.
- Experience with contract review, amendments, service agreements, procurement documentation, and vendor coordination.
- Experience processing Purchase Orders, Service Orders, procurement requests, or similar SCM transactions.
- Experience reviewing transportation rates, freight charges, rate sheets, and fuel surcharge / FSC calculations is considered an asset.
- Completion of Supply Management Training (SMT) and/or active progress toward a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset.
- A strong understanding of procurement, sourcing, contracting, vendor management, and supply chain best practices.
- A strong attention to detail, with the ability to review documents, pricing, approvals, and commercial terms accurately.
- The ability to work quickly and effectively while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to quickly learn internal systems and software.
- Experience with ERP, EAM, procurement, contract management, or electronic invoicing systems is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder requests in a fast-paced environment.
