POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide leadership for the maintenance crafts to insure the safe execution of day to day maintenance work tasks, including both planned and emergency work. Work closely with maintenance management in all aspects of placement, leading and evaluating maintenance team members. Efficiently use resources to work within the maintenance plan and budget.


RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:


1) Safety

Must comply with company, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures at all times.

Drive a positive safety culture, including initiation of JSA’s for maintenance tasks.

Demonstrate environmental and safety regulatory leadership
Support environmental, health and safety initiatives and awareness
Ensure employees have a clear understanding of expected safety performance

2) Direct Maintenance team to meet short and long range objectives with optimum efficiency

Direct the staff and provide on-site expertise
Review work planning and scheduling with the maintenance planner and maintenance manager for all scheduled work
Ensure maintenance standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established
Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization
Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented
Implement spares management best practices
Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant


3) Leadership and Staff Development

Be a positive leader that encourages cross-functional communication
Establish key performance indicators to measure implementation and progress of goals
Drive culture change from a reactive to pro-active approach to asset management and reliability focus
Provide feedback to direct reports and of those managed through coaching, delegation, and follow up to suggestion and ideas.

4) Planning Scheduling of daily maintenance work to meet short term objectives with optimum efficiency

Coordinates with Maintenance Manager to assess priorities and urgency of maintenance orders. Assist in the development of the daily/weekly maintenance schedules and procurement of necessary goods and services.
Establish processes for SAP including training of team members.
Ensure work is completed to the project standards and guidelines.
Follow spares management best practices.
Maintain department budget targets.
Responsible for daily meetings with production for planning and scheduling of maintenance opportunities.
Foster continuous improvement on equipment with maintenance team.
Develop and implement a define Preventative Maintenance program
Establish metrics to measure equipment uptime with the ability to provide sustainable solutions.


5) Perform others duties as assigned.


ATTRIBUTES:

Leadership experience
Must be able to work any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
Must be able perform basic mathematical computations.
Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages.
Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs.
Proven self-direction and leadership abilities.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.
Must be a team player who works well with others.
Must be open minded, willing to learn, and receptive to change.
Strong record of attendance reliability.
Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers.
Must know, understand and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
Must possess basic computer skills on how to use MS Office products and SAP.
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blue prints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry.

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.
The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles.
The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
Ability to occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds.


REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background, with training in both fields.


PREFFERED EDUCATION:


Technical degree


Required Experience:

3 years in a maintenance supervisory role.


PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

5+ years in a maintenance supervisory role.
