Position

Superintendent, Civil Earthworks, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Manager, Site Services and Civil Works, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Plan, schedule, and manage all civil construction, Crushing, and maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

- Lead the team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure project objectives are met.

- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).

- Analyze and distribute all drawing and blueprint revisions.

- Oversee all crushing activities, heavy civil works, multi plat bridge profiles, pipe bedding and backfill.

- Ensure that all civil works and crushing meet quality standards and specifications, conducting regular inspections and quality checks.

- Efficiently allocate resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to optimize project outcomes.

- Ensure civil works and crushing activities comply with environmental regulations and implement measures to minimize environmental impact.

- Effectively manages contractors, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

- Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut's health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Seven (7) years' experience in crusher operations and earthworks, preferably in the mining industry with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a supervisory role.

- Demonstrated experience in safe execution and planning of civil works.

- 10 years operating heavy equipment including finishing excavator, wristed twist, hoe pack/ram, dozer, haul truck etc.

- Previous experience working on a remote site in Arctic conditions with limited access to resources, is desirable.

- Prior experience working with Indigenous groups in a professional capacity.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $172,000.00.
