Substation Journeyman Electrician

Arizona Public Service (APS) is actively looking for Substation Journeymen

to join our team!

We have openings at the following locations

- Deer Valley (Phoenix, AZ) - multiple positions available

- Four Corners Power Plant (Fruitland, NM)

- Cholla Power Plant (Joseph City, AZ)

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED

- Completed a Registered

Electrician Apprenticeship Program

or

an equivalent training program

(as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training

)

- One (1) year experience

as an Electrician

- Must currently have a valid

Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

for

manual transmissions

with

no mechanical restrictions

(i.e. airbrakes)

and ability to meet all DOT requirements

- Must live within reasonable distance

(one (1) hour)

from assigned Headquarters.

- Subject to overtime and/or out-of-town assignments

- Qualifying Tests may be given

- This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300lbs or less

Preferred Qualifications:

- Considerable experience performing

Journeyman-level

high voltage substation duties

with an

electric utility or other entity operating and maintaining high voltage substation equipment

preferred

- Experienced in writing and executing switching orders, and basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
