Provides support to the estimating department, responsible for preparing estimates as needed for projects, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
- Creates and send out Request for Quotes to subcontractors/vendors.
- Performs data entry for accurate pricing.
- Prepares new projects for software transfer.
- Composes and types reports and routine correspondence.
- Files correspondence and other records.
- Inputs information into computer to maintain files and job progress reports.
- Distributes appropriate documents to other departments as instructed.
- Compiles and types statistical reports.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors.
- Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; three to six months related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers and prospects; efficient writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Office knowledge and Competence in basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form.
- Performs data entry for accurate pricing.
- Knowledge of all standard office equipment - phone, computer, copier, etc.
Regularly required to sit, occasionally stands and walks, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to talk or hear. Seldom lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
General office and constant exposure to computer display. Occasional interaction with production employees in the fabrication facility.
