Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare labor & material estimates for Stairs, Design Build Stairs, Misc. Steel products, light structural projects, or services and provides support to the estimating manager and salesman.
- Prepare and understand stair designs and codes to be able to estimate small and large stair projects.
- Prepares Itemized lists by reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements.
- Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
- Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Prepares scope of work along with all exclusions, clarifications, and conditions. Lists all bid documents with dates used in preparation of estimate.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard house and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
- Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Be able to do estimate design building stair packages.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Experience may substitute for education.
- two (2) + Years related experience.- Working knowledge of engineering and design concepts in the structural steel, and misc. metals industry.
- PC skills to include the following software: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Tekla, and Blue Beam for Steel Estimating.
Regularly required to sit, occasionally stands and walks, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to talk or hear. Seldom lifts and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
General office and constant exposure to computer display. Occasional interaction with production employees in the fabrication facility.
