Quality Control Inspector - Structural Steel

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector for our INDUSTRIAL STEEL FABRICATION SHOP to join our team. MUST HAVE prior steel fabrication experience! The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and maintaining documentation to ensure adherence to quality systems and AWS/AISC regulations. The Quality Control Inspector will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to quality and excellence.

Responsibilities

- Conduct inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

- Utilize vision inspection systems and other testing equipment to perform thorough evaluations of products.

- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.

- Collaborate with production teams to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.

- Participate in the development and maintenance of quality assurance protocols and procedures.

- Collect and analyze data related to product quality, identifying trends or areas for improvement.

- Assist in training staff on quality control processes and best practices.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant AWS/AISC regulations throughout the manufacturing process.

Requirements

- Proven experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment.

- Familiarity with quality of structural steel.

- Experience with vision inspection systems and data collection methodologies.

- Able to utilize excel for documentation.

- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
