Join our advanced manufacturing team specializing in cutting-edge composites and thermoset materials for the Automotive, Aviation, and Aerospace industries. We're at the forefront of materials technology, supplying critical components that power the future of transportation and space exploration.
We are seeking a results-driven Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead and optimize our supply chain procurement operations across our Automotive, Aviation, and Aerospace manufacturing facility. This critical leadership role is responsible for building and managing a best-in-class supplier and vendor network, driving cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and operational continuity. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing supply chains.
Location: 3411 Woodhead Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062
- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with company goals and drive measurable cost savings across all manufacturing divisions.
- Manage, evaluate, and strengthen relationships with a portfolio of strategic suppliers and vendors, ensuring performance, reliability, and alignment with quality standards.
- Leverage purchasing volume and buying power to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and service-level agreements with vendors
- Design and implement vendor incentive programs to motivate cost reduction, continuous improvement, and innovation throughout the supply base.
- Lead end-to-end contract negotiations and draft, review, and execute supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews using KPIs and scorecards; proactively address risks and develop contingency sourcing plans.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Quality teams to align sourcing strategies with production needs.
- Identify and qualify new supplier sources to support growth, new product introductions, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions and forecasting.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the Automotive, Aviation, or Aerospace manufacturing industries
- Proven track record of leveraging buying power and implementing vendor incentive programs to achieve significant cost reductions.
- Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts and agreements
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement systems, advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of supplier qualification, risk management, and vendor performance management frameworks
- Bilingual, Spanish (a plus).
- Familiarity with AS9100, or similar quality management standards, is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of composites and thermosets a plus.

Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with state-of-the-art CNC equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in an environment with noise and exposure to composite dust (proper PPE provided). Some flexibility for shift coverage may be required.
