Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations at our store. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining efficient store operations to meet sales goals and uphold company standards. The Store Manager will be responsible for driving sales, managing inventory, and fostering a positive team environment to deliver an outstanding shopping experience.
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve store targets
- Oversee inventory management, including stock ordering, merchandising, and inventory control
- Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain accurate cash handling, POS transactions, and bookkeeping records
- Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team skills
- Monitor store performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and services
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Manage shift schedules to ensure proper coverage during operating hours
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in retail math, POS systems, cash handling, and merchandising techniques
- Experience in inventory management, purchasing, pricing strategies, and sales management
- Knowledge of employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, and bookkeeping
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills
- Familiarity with marketing strategies and retail sales techniques
- Previous assistant manager or shift management experience is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or management is advantageous
