- Five years of experience working as a Steamfitter/Pipefitter in a heavy industrial environment
- A valid Alberta Journeyperson Steamfitter/Pipefitter Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Steamfitter /Pipefitter Certificate
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- A strong safety mindset with proven safe work practices and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations

- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping systems
- Fabricate pipe spools to specifications
- Participate in post‑event analyses, root‑cause discussions, and solution development
- Maintain technical documentation and follow preventive maintenance guidelines
- Apply continuous improvement to work practices, procedures, and safety standards
- Plan jobs, including material assessment and selection
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a flexible team environment
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations to support equipment and plant reliability
- You will work out of a Syncrude Mildred Lake location in Fort McMurray, Alberta
- The shift schedule 5on 4off 5on 5off 4on 5off;12hr day shifts
- This position is safety sensitive
- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
- If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
