About This Job

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team! This position will be responsible to assist in the maintenance of financial records, preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with account policies and procedures.

Responsibilities Include

•

Accounts Payable

•

Vendor set up and maintenance

•

Year-end form 1099 and form 1096 processing

•

Accounts Payable Processing

•

Check processing

•

Maintain accounts payable holds

•

Maintain open payable file

•

Disseminate, collect and record credit cards, home depot cards and fuel card transactions.

•

Weekly processing of expense reports

•

Manage petty cash

•

Maintain and remit monthly rent payments for field offices

•

Special projects, including the preparation of account analysis

•

Billing

•

Collaborate with Project Managers in order to generate customer billings and resolve issues.

•

Generate internal project billings and obtain appropriate approvals

•

Update T&M billing templates as required including involvement with system/process improvements.

•

Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

•

Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

•

Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering relevant data, preparing schedules, and collaborating with other departments to develop accurate financial projections.

•

Provide support during internal and external audits be preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to inquiries from auditors.

•

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

•

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or other related field, or equivalent.

•

Experience in an AR/AP/PR, budgets, financial statements, monthly close, cash management, and other accounting functions.

•

CPA and/or CCIFP preferred, but not required

•

Prior experience in an automated construction environment is a plus.

•

Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook).

•

Experience using Viewpoint, processing time and materials (T&M), doing NYS murk billing or with construction sales tax is a plus.
