Overview:

The Sack Company is a long-standing and reputable organization focused in the construction industry. We are searching for a highly motivated candidate to grow with the team and act as the right-hand person to the Controller. The Staff Accountant will have frequent interaction with business leaders and company ownership while being groomed for future advancement within the company. The role focuses on a variety of accounting and finance specific responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

•

Construction industry specific tasks such as job costing / WIP reporting on projects

•

Complete the month-end close process – full-cycle accounting

•

Assist Controller and team with daily tasks

•

Assist with the preparation and analysis of the financial statements and various financial reports

•

Prepare journal entries and reconciliations

•

Assist with the annual budget and forecasting process – various ad hoc analysis projects

•

Interact with upper-level leadership as well as Operations on a daily basis

Desired Candidate Profile:

•

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related Business degree required

•

2-4 years’ experience in corporate GL accounting, experience in the construction industry is a plus

•

Strong GAAP knowledge // strong analytical skills

•

Motivated to grow and work in a variety of areas of Accounting/Finance with a mid-sized company

•

Excellent communicator – ability to communicate with various levels of employees and make connections with operations in the field
