Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for posting and reconciling the day-to-day financial activities related to an assigned general ledger. The Staff Accountant will also gather, document and analyze information to support general ledger balances and in turn support the preparation of periodic financial reporting and audit preparation.
The rate of pay for this position is $55,000 per year ($26.44 per hour; FLSA Non-Exempt).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Record monthly journal entries for various assigned ledgers that includes but is not limited to income, inventory, prepaid expense, cost allocations and depreciation and amortization
•Prepare month end reconciliations for various assigned ledgers and assist in investigating and explaining any budget to actual variance greater than 10%
•Prepare invoices with applicable documentation as needed for lines of business
•Process cash receipts for various assigned ledgers. This may include making bank deposits and entering journal entries for cash receipts.
•Prepare weekly cash balance and cash disbursements reports
•Prepare bank account reconciliations for assigned ledgers
•Assist in preparation for the year end independent audits. This includes preparing work papers and supplemental schedules and at times collecting account documentation for various assigned ledgers. It may also include documenting internal controls and describing various accounting policies and procedures.
•Other duties and special projects as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
Experience:
•1+ years of experience in accounting or finance
Skills:
•Analytical thinker and problem solver
•High degree of professionalism and discretion when working with confidential information
•Strong understanding of accounting principles
•Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
•Commitment to high level of efficiency and accuracy
•Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data

•Self-starter with high level of integrity
•Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
