The Staff Accountant works closely with various departments and accounting teams to deliver accurate and timely financial information in support of the company’s performance goals.
- Prepares monthly journal entries for month-end reporting deadlines.
- Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepares bank reconciliations and posts cash entries.
- Prepares monthly financial analytics.
- Assists with the annual audit process for both interim and year-end.
- Documents accounting policies and processes.
- Maintains and adheres to GAAP accounting policies.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives for accounting processes.
- Manages assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assists with internal SOX documentation and compliance, including understanding internal controls.
- Creates ad hoc reports for Management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to solve problems independently and recommend effective solutions.
- Must be able to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
- Must communicate professionally and maintain good working relationships with all employees.
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends, interpret financial data, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Strong computer skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote
- Experience with SAP preferred
Physical Demands and Hazards for Office Employees:
