General Summary
Responsible for assisting in Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (Rayburn) day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and verifying financial transactions. Provides back up for the AP/AR process in accounting. Prepares complete and accurate posting of entries into the general ledger accounting system.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge
- Prepares general ledger entries and reviews for Rayburn, including but not limited to cash, fixed assets, capital projects, AP and AR.
- Processes Accounts Payable invoices.
- Provides back-up for other accountants and the processing and posting of AR Invoices with proper approvals.
- Supports month end and year end accounting close.
- Performs and reviews general ledger account reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Prepares reports and analysis to support management or business requirements.
- Performs any other accounting duties pertaining to the business of Rayburn.
- Assists management as needed.
- Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality agreements effective as a result of employment with Rayburn.
- Shares information with Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties in a timely manner, as required.
- Delegates jobs and tasks to appropriate employees, providing complete information and resources to properly complete such jobs and tasks.
- Provides Rayburn management with updates and/or reports on work and tasks as requested or required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.
Education
Job Specifications / Skills Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related degree is required.
Experience
2 - 3 years of accounting experience
