Staff Accountant

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Purpose:

This position will work closely with the Plant & Corporate controllers in his/her daily, weekly, and monthly task in managing financial results, and will need to possess strong process management and critical thinking skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

· Collaborate with the Plant Controller and Operations team to support the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, monthly operations reviews, capital budget tracking and reporting, and variance analysis.

· Managing receipts, settlements, sales, invoicing, billing, payments, books, records, and financial statements.

· Perform reconciliations, financial status reports, final invoices, and reporting.

· Prepare or assist with state and federal regulatory reporting requirements

· Assist with internal and external audits

· Supports the Plant Controller in ensuring accurate accounting and effective internal controls.

· Help streamline existing processes and create new procedures.

· Maintain general ledger to ensure transactions are recorded properly

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

· 1 to 3 years of experience preferred in accounting, financial planning and analysis, inventory, or asset control at a renewable fuel’s organization, but will train the right candidate

· Analytics and problem-solving skills

· Knowledge of different accounting software and spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel
