Position

Sr. Operator, Multi Equipment, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Civil Earthworks, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including (but not limited to) Dozer, Excavator, Rock Truck, Graders, Loaders, and Roller Compactors.

- Perform duties including large and small scale excavation, and material placement in accordance with project requirements.

- Interpret and follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of assigned tasks.

- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and address any issues promptly.

- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to the supervisor in a timely manner.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and housekeeping of equipment.

- Collaborate with supervisors and fellow team members to coordinate activities and achieve project objectives.

- Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut's health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Five (5) years' experience operating heavy equipment including 320-349 Excavator, DS-D8 Dozer, 730 Articulating Rock truck, 14m Grader, Front end Loader and Roller Compactor.

- Heavy Equipment Operating Certification may be considered an asset.

- Previous experience working on a remote site in Arctic conditions with limited access to resources, is desirable.

- Prior experience working with Indigenous groups in a professional capacity.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $118,508.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $43.00 and overtime rate of $64.50) in a work year.
