Sr. Control Systems Engineer II

- This is a remote position that does require 30% travel*

Introduction

As a Sr. Control Systems Engineer, you'll recommend automation solutions, develop migration roadmaps, program plans, and cost estimates, and collaborate with Business Development Managers on proposals. You'll support Project Managers by planning, scheduling, and coordinating technical aspects of projects, while mentoring early career engineers. Participate in client meetings, resolve technical issues, and ensure the use of EN Automation’s engineering processes and best practices. Additionally, you'll develop and document system requirements, test plans, and commissioning plans to align control system design and development ac

You'll be at the forefront of automation, designing and programming PLC and HMI applications for natural gas compressor stations and similar facilities. You'll lead internal QA reviews, develop test plans, and conduct Client Software Acceptance Testing (SAT) in simulation environments to ensure flawless functionality before deployment. On-site, you'll bring systems to life—deploying software, configuring networks, and performing commissioning activities including I/O verification, SCADA integrity checks, and cause-and-effect testing. You'll lead functional and mode testing under all operating conditions, validating everything from load sharing to safety shutdowns. As a technical leader, you'll coordinate closely with client teams, Gas Control, and SCADA groups, troubleshooting issues and guiding system integration across compressors, coolers, dryers, and more. Plus, you'll maintain precise documentation and manage redlines throughout commissioning, delivering polished, updated packages at project completion.

- This position pays between $90,000 and $105,000 annually and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Minimum of 5 years of control engineering focused in natural gas compressor stations or midstream oil & gas facilities

- Proficiency with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View ME/SE

- Experience with SCADA integration, industrial networking, and process control systems

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with compressor load sharing and load balancing controls

- Familiarity with PI data collection and historian systems

- Understanding of TSA/Cybersecurity compliance requirements for control systems
