Your Impact
In this role, you will strengthen Newmont’s asset integrity by ensuring our fire detection and suppression (FD&S) systems across mobile and fixed assets are reliable, compliant, and optimized. Your expertise will directly reduce fire and explosion risk and enhance the safety and performance of our global operations.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
Support the development, optimization, and governance of mechanical and FD&S standards and integrity programs.
Conduct audits and assessments on FD&S systems across mobile equipment, fixed plant, utilities, and infrastructure.
Evaluate system maturity and identify gaps, recommending practical improvements.
Prepare and communicate detailed integrity and maturity reports with actionable insights.
Coordinate closure of audit actions with internal teams and track progress through to completion.
Monitor performance of external partners to ensure quality service and compliance with standards.Provide subject‑matter guidance on fire and explosion risks, including supporting investigations and advising on corrective actions.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance FD&S reliability and efficiency.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Minimum 5 years of experience with heavy equipment in the mining industry; fixed‑plant experience preferred.
- Formal tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering; fire protection/safety certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical integrity assurance and fire/explosion risk management across mobile and fixed assets.
- Strong working knowledge of international standards and codes related to fire prevention, detection, and suppression.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work within governance frameworks and interpret data to diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex environments.
- The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado but highly qualified candidates in any region we operate in will be considered.
- Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $106,200- 146,680. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
