About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This position will be based in Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.

About The Role

In this role, you will:

- Bring the BHP brand to life across Canada and Saskatchewan through advertising, events, and merchandise—in partnership with our global Brand team.

- Provide strategic communications advice and deliver engagement strategies that support business objectives for Potash and the broader North America portfolio.

- Take an audience-first, editorial approach to manage and deliver workforce and stakeholder communications to our Potash business and other offices.

- Lead internal and external events—from town halls to external engagements, ensuring seamless execution and preparing leaders with strong briefing notes and messaging.

- Craft compelling content for multiple channels (written, digital, video) that highlights key priorities such as health and safety, operational readiness, inclusion and diversity, and Indigenous engagement.

- Ensure all communications align with BHP’s strategic narrative, objectives, and brand standards.

About You

- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, or a related field.

- Proven ability to provide timely support to senior leaders, in line with business priorities.

- Excellent writing skills across a variety of written and visual mediums.

- Strong understanding of, and ability to use, internal and external digital tools and platforms.

- Ability to collaborate and build strong networks across the company and with project partners.

- An eye for design and familiarity with software such as Canva, InDesign and Photoshop.

- Video production and photography capability.

- Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
