We’re looking for a certified and motivated Soils/Asphalt Technician to join our Bay Area team! This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of exciting construction and infrastructure projects across Northern California with a team that values integrity, accuracy, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
•Monitor and confirm implementation of geotechnical recommendations on active construction sites.
•Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grading ordinances.
•Perform in-place density testing using a nuclear gauge and report field conditions accurately.
•Ensure adherence to local and state building codes and regulatory standards.
•Maintain organized and thorough field records including test data, maps, and documentation.
•Communicate field findings and project updates with supervisors, project managers, and team members.
•Prepare detailed and accurate daily field reports and submit on a timely basis.
Qualifications
•Required Certifications:
•ICC Soils Special Inspector
•ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1
•Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification (CPN or equivalent)
•Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in soils, asphalt, and concrete testing.
•Strong understanding of soil classification, compaction, and construction procedures.
•Additional Requirements:
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, report entry platforms).
•Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various outdoor site conditions.
•Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
•Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, certifications, and relevant experience. Competitive rates offered.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
