As a skilled laborer, you will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility pipelines. Working closely with experienced team members, you'll operate heavy machinery, assist in pipe assembly and installation, and ensure that all work meets project specifications and safety standards. This role requires physical stamina, a commitment to teamwork, and a dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Assist in the installation of various types of pipelines (water, sewer, storm drain) according to project specifications.
Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers to excavate trenches and lay pipe.
Assist in the assembly and positioning of pipe sections, fittings, and valves.
Ensure proper alignment and depth of trenches to meet engineering requirements.
Perform tests on pipelines to ensure functionality and detect leaks.
Assist in the backfilling of trenches and cleanup of construction sites.
Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Collaborate with team members, including foremen and project managers, to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
Previous experience in construction or related field preferred.
Ability to operate construction equipment and tools safely and effectively.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications or vocational training is a plus.
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in underground utility construction.
