Job Summary
This position supervises and oversees the production/shipping employees to ensure compliance with safety, quality, efficiency, and that on-time delivery standards are met, in relation to in-process, outside process and finished products; including the preparation, inventory and transportation of the product.
General Responsibilities
•Prepares and schedules for outgoing and incoming shipments and paperwork.
•Prepares the daily and year-end paperwork; including bar code labels, inventory counts, certifications of origin, and vendor surveys, as well as negotiating prices with trucking firms.
•Purchases and maintains inventory levels of packaging supplies; such as cartons, pallets, and misc. items..
•Organizes the warehouse to ensure first-in/first-out and a proper inventory count of both WCM product and customer-owned product.
•Communicates goals for productivity, scrap downtime, and rework to all direct reports and management.
•Encourages and promotes continuous improvement initiatives in areas of safety, environment, quality, cost, productivity, and delivery.
•Responsible for the knowledge and implementation of policies and procedures; including reviews and disciplinary action.
•Creates an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort with all direct reports.
Qualifications
•Knowledgeable in OSHA compliance.
•Ability to prioritize time and personnel.
•Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
