Position Summary
Reporting to the Team lead settlements, this role is responsible for analysis and payment of rail freight invoices and associated charges (Demurrage, Rail Storage, Customs) as well as costs related to Fleet maintenance and lease costs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
+ Works closely with rail logistics team to validate Rail carrier invoices and pay invoices, dispute incorrect billings, and pay invoices within credit terms. + Supports Lease expense analysis and payments on AltaGas’ rail fleet of greater than 3300 rail cars. + Review and pay other rail charges such as demurrage costs, empty freight, diversion charges etc etc. + Completes monthly accruals for rail freight, empty freight, Demurrage costs. + Prepares reporting to be used by the NGL reporting team in month end close processes and for ad hoc queries.
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred + 3+ Years accounting or finance related work experience required + Strong analysis and problem solving skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of team. + Power bi skills. + Time management and prioritization + Accounting software experience and accounting knowledge
