TENCO SOLAR is looking for a Senior Solar Technician to grow their career in solar installation. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers full benefits and room for growth and advancement. Job Duties/ Responsibilities
•Work on commercial rooftops, solar carports and ground mounted systems to assemble the solar array racking, properly seal roof penetrations, and install all related equipment.
•Work with crew members to complete projects using established policies and procedures.
•Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems in accordance with design plans and safety codes.
•Install battery storage systems (e.g., Tesla, Enphase, SolArk, Point Guard, etc.) per manufacturer specifications and local code.
•Install and commission EV charger systems per manufacturer specifications and provided engineering.
•Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on safety. Ensure compliance with OSHA and NEC safety standards.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
•• Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your ability.
•Understand the full scope of work for a given project.
•Follow and perform functions of pre-installation roof repairs.
•Ability to read and understand complete single line diagrams and plan sets to take projects from plans to installation with an understanding of the technical aspects and variations without making errors or assumptions.
•Interpret blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
•Provide Lead with recommendations for work assignments of employees in various job groups.
•Substitute for Lead in his/her absence
•Relieve employees in the group during breaks, lunch, etc.
•Assist with system commissioning and testing.
•Must be willing and able to occasionally travel (including overnight stays)
•Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, methodology and safety.
•Ability to read plan sets and single line diagrams.
•Ability to make material lists, including but not limited to AC/DC equipment needed.
•Responsible for verbal and written communication (in email).
•Able to assist Lead with projects from hand off to final inspection within scheduled time.
•Handle confidential data professionally.
•Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in solar PV and battery storage installation.
•Strong knowledge of tools, materials, and construction techniques related to solar and battery systems.
•Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
•Comfortable working at high altitudes.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
•NABCEP certification a plus but not required.
•Basic understanding of electrical systems is preferred.
•Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork skills.
•Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance).
•Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work.
•Ability to operate Forklift, Telehandlers, and Airial lifts (current certifications preferred).
•Ability to interact with co-workers and participate in meetings.
•Ability to work on ladders and lifts and use safety harnesses.
•Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions.
Location: field work, based out of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Diego counties
Hours: 8 hours per day, plus overtime, Monday-Friday
