Job Overview:
The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing routine maintenance, and interacting with clients to address concerns and provide education on system operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Remove and reinstall solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment.
•Conduct routine inspections to assess the condition of solar panels and associated components.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot roof leaks, system malfunctions and operational issues.
•Perform scheduled maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on solar panels and related equipment.
•Replace faulty or damaged equipment under warranty.
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
•Prepare reports detailing system performance and any necessary repairs.
•Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
•Report safety hazards and incidents promptly.
•Communicate with customers to schedule service visits and provide updates on maintenance activities.
•Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong technical skills in solar panel systems and electrical components.
•Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting solar system issues.
•Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with industry standards.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Excellent communication and customer service skills.
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
•Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
•Familiarity with solar monitoring software and data analysis tools is a plus.
•Basic understanding of electrical systems and maintenance practices.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical education or certification in solar technology is preferred).
•Previous experience in solar panel installation, maintenance, or related field is advantageous.
•On-the-job training and mentoring may be provided for entry-level candidates with the right aptitude and attitude.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (at least 50 pounds).
•Comfort working at heights, including on rooftops and ladders.
•Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
•Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
•Vision and hearing within normal range for safety and troubleshooting purposes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
