POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Revenue Accountant, under minimal oversight, is responsible for revenue and regulatory accounting and reporting. This role involves preparing all internal and external documents and interacting with various governmental agencies, partners, members of the Revenue and Production team, and other departments. This position includes processing revenue (operated or non-operated) as well as reporting and paying production taxes, royalties and other specific obligations to the appropriate agencies. Additionally, the role is responsible for calculating appropriate accruals to ensure financial statement accuracy and preparing applicable general ledger account reconciliations. This position prepares journal entries, account reconciliations and other Ad hoc deliverables monthly. The Senior Revenue Accountant reports to the Manager – Revenue and Regulatory Accounting in the Denver office.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Review, audit, and input all non-operated revenue transactions to support accurate financial reporting. Identify gaps in information and ensure proper accruals are recorded.
•Review, audit, and input operated revenue as needed by the company.
•Prepare any necessary revenue related journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and analysis.
•Reconcile Revenue related banks accounts. Prepare accurate and timely revenue invoices for input to Quorum and confirm receipts.
•Accurately prepare and input monthly partner, royalty or 3rd party entries into Quorum as needed.
•Assist the Production Reporting team with journal entries and reconciliations for imbalances.
•Execute the reporting and paying escheat to all states.
•Accurately calculate, pay and complete required reporting associated with state specific backup withholding.
•Review and ensure the accuracy of 1099s associated with revenue payments.
•Assist with researching and resolving any discrepancies in the revenue distribution process.
•Primary point of contact for EnergyLink and the owner inquiry processes.
•Ensure processing documentation is current and accurate to mitigate risk for the company.
•Participate with and coordinate system testing of Quorum, or any future system to ensure functionality and updates are working appropriately.
•Provide excellent customer service and resolve Ad hoc requests from individuals both internally and externally.
•Develop the skill set of their team, including themselves, in areas related to revenue accounting such as regulatory reporting, tax reporting and statutory requirements in the states we operate.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
•6+ years of Oil and Gas accounting experience
•Knowledge of Gas Imbalances
•Oil and Gas Accounting system experience
