Provide engineering technical support on PowerSecure MicroGrid equipment including switchgear and generators. This role is customer-focused, requiring high decision quality, systematic analysis, and strong problem-solving skills to ensure safe and effective solutions.
- 12+ years of commercial/industrial experience with generators, ATS/switchgear, and paralleling control systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering may substitute for 4 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in product testing and development.- Proficient in reading electrical/mechanical schematics and engineer-of-record drawings.
- Experience with PLCs, generator controllers, protective relays, alternators, and generators.
- Commissioning and field experience required.
- NFPA 70 ARC Flash Certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and operational theory of switchgear/PowerGen products.
- Ability to troubleshoot and make engineering programming changes to controllers, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Experience leading root cause analysis events.
- Excellent time management and prioritization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication via phone and email.
- Act as liaison between field and factory engineering teams.
- Support complex start-ups and field troubleshooting.
- Provide onsite engineering changes and communicate action items.
- Assist in field retrofit projects and technical documentation.
- Support training teams and escalate critical issues.
- Help schedule and prioritize tasks with Product Support Manager.
- Up to 45% travel required.
- Exposure to industrial environments including generators, welding, and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to work in both office and field settings.
- Manual dexterity for operating digital equipment.
- Occasional after-hours and weekend support.
