Senior Product Sustaining Engineer

We are seeking to fill a Senior Product Sustaining Engineer position. In this role you will be part of our electronics engineering team responsible for high-quality motor drive products used in performance motion control systems. You will be responsible for improvements to existing products to increase reliability, reduce cost, sustain manufacturability, or add functionality. You will coordinate with operations, quality, compliance, production test, design and software engineering as well as customer support teams to resolve operational issues to maintain safe, reliable, and cost-effective products.

This position will be based in our global headquarters in Radford, VA.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

- Work with the global operations team and external suppliers to resolve issues encountered in production by developing solutions to meet specified performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability targets.

- Coordinate cross-functional activities that include applications, supply chain, manufacturing, design engineering, quality, production test, and regulatory compliance.

- Lead a cross functional team to solve component issues on current product designs.

- Lead and execute product design change projects from evaluation through validation. Changes may include, component, bill of materials (BOM), schematic, layout, or mechanical CAD changes.

- Own and implement design change test and qualification plans, working directly in a hands-on environment.

- Support manufacturing and production test teams in the identification, design, acquisition, build, and validation of production tooling, templates, assembly tools, and fixtures.

- Coordinate with materials, production, quality, and design engineering teams to get FAI units scheduled, built, data analyzed and evaluated.

- Follow Regal Rexnord Quality System requirements including change control, validation, documentation, and design control requirements.

- Support the compliance team to ensure agency certification: UL/CE, TUV, RoHS, REACH etc.

- Support new product development to ensure the design is sustainable and manufacturable.

Minimum Requirement:

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field

- 10 years’ experience including sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, design engineering or similar engineering role

- Knowledge of both analog and digital circuits along with experience of component-level debug of PCB assemblies

- Ability to create, modify and work from engineering drawings (Schematics, PCB Layout)

- Experience with Power Electronics preferred

- Experience with Mechanical CAD preferred

- Experience leading a project or team preferred

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Skilled in root cause analysis

- Ability to clearly communicate in a variety of communication settings and styles

- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams across multiple sites
