Reporting to the Optimization Superintendent, you will be part of the Process Plant Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

- Lead the team of control and automation experts, consulting with maintenance and operations to identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the various plant processes;

- Ownership of technical hardware and software issues related to process control and automation systems, including regulatory control, PLC’s (programmable logic controller), process monitoring, data historian, communication networks and HMI’s (human-machine interface);

- Work with site IT department to ensure reliable operation and maintenance of the process plant automation network hardware and software;

- Providing process control and PLC hands-on expertise of advanced analytical and trouble shooting skills to assist operations, maintenance and technical personnel identify opportunities for improvement as well as aid in solving day-to-day production problems;

- Providing assistance to the plant training group with the development of training material and SOP’s. Coaching, mentoring and developing the automation, instrumentation and electrical team, advancing everyone’s skillset and knowledge of the integrated systems and how to troubleshoot them;

- Ensuring controls are aligned with plant optimization direction.

What You Need To Succeed

- Degree in Engineering with a specialization in Process Control and Automation;

- Minimum three years’ experience as a Process Control Engineer in mineral processing;

- Hands-on expertise in VPO (pre-operational verification), PLC programming and equipment startup (knowledge of Schneider M580 PLC hardware with hot standby redundancy and Control Expert programming platform is considered an asset);

- Expertise in Ethernet communication and SCADA programming (knowledge of Aveva Citect Scada/ System Platform HMI and OSIsoft PI data historian and Pi Vision is considered an asset);

- Expertise with field instrumentation and motor control configurations.

Your Work Schedule

- Schedule: Will be determined upon hire, at our Detour Lake Mine;

- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
