JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is a detail-oriented, self-starter who takes initiative in owning the full employee lifecycle at Purity Gas, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding. This role will be responsible for day-to-day HR administration, employee experience programs, and driving continuous improvements in our HRIS platform (Rippling).
Reporting directly into the Finance and Administration Team, this innovative and hands-on role will serve as the primary HR liaison with our managed IT service provider, ensuring seamless coordination of digital tools, devices, and accounts for new hires and offboarding employees.
You will work closely with the Managing Director to support Purity Gas’ ongoing growth while cultivating a positive, high-performing workplace. Strong digital fluency, sound judgment, and solid HR expertise are key to success in this role.
This position also plays a vital part in delivering an enriching employee experience, helping to lead engagement, development, and culture-building initiatives across the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
RECRUITMENT AND ONBOARDING
•Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offer letters
•Coordinate digital onboarding processes through Rippling
•Liaise with our managed IT service provider to coordinate devices, tool access, and system setup for new employees
PERFORMANCE AND LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT
•Manage all employee lifecycle events including promotions, transitions, and offboarding
•Administer and track performance reviews, goals, and development plans
•Maintain and manage employee records and data integrity in Rippling
•Support management with documentation, coaching, and engagement strategies
•Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely, supportive, and professional guidance.
•Provide guidance to leaders on performance and conduct concerns, disciplinary action, and conflict resolution
IT LIAISON & DIGITAL ADMINISTRATION
•Serve as the main HR point-of-contact for our managed IT service provider
•Ensure timely device setup, tool provisioning, and system access for new hires
•Coordinate system deactivations and tech recovery during offboarding
•Own and optimize the HR module use of Rippling as our core HR platform
ENRICHMENT & EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
•Act as a key contributor to the company’s employee enrichment program
•Help organize and support internal engagement, learning, and recognition initiatives
•Foster a positive, consistent, and inclusive workplace culture
HR ADMINISTRATION & COMPLIANCE
•Maintain HR policies, procedures, organizational charts and documentation
•Partner with our outsourced HR/OHS compliance provider as needed
•Support adherence to relevant employment laws and internal policies
•Support health and safety initiatives and ensure adherence to OHS safety regulations
•Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and communication with providers
•Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve questions or issues
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Attend HR-related training sessions and stay current on best practices
•Implement scalable processes and policies aligned with company growth
•Prepare reports and updates for leadership on HR-related metrics
•Assist with strategic projects and process improvement initiatives
•Support company-wide communications and planning for team events and initiatives
•Additional responsibilities and cross-functional support as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
•CHRP or CHRL designation (or in-progress with equivalent experience)
•Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Human Resources or related field
•4–6+ years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in a growth or scaling environment
•Experience with Rippling or other cloud-based HRIS platforms
•Strong organizational and communication skills
•Proven ability to manage sensitive information and employee relations issues
•Experience coordinating with IT teams or vendors during onboarding/offboarding
•Excellent documentation, digital fluency, and attention to detail
•Passion for employee engagement, development, and culture building
•Fluent in English (written and oral)
•Able to travel to the United States of America
WORK CONDITIONS
•Regular full-time hours (37.5 hours per week), 5 days per week
•Primary workplace location is the Purity Gas head office (with some flexibility for hybrid)
•Minimal travel required, with potential for infrequent off-site meetings or events
