The Senior Director of Accounting will lead the global accounting function and ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage internal controls, support global consolidation efforts, and play a key role in financial reporting and audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in public accounting and the ability to lead a high-performing team in a dynamic environment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the daily activities of the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.
- Oversee the full cycle of accounting operations, including accounts payable, purchasing, general ledger, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure timely processing and accurate recording of vendor invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
- Partner with procurement and operations teams to ensure purchasing policies are followed and expenditures are properly authorized.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee bank and partner reporting, including compliance with loan covenants, partner distributions, and other financial reporting obligations.
- Support external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, ensuring accuracy and proactive management of liquidity needs.
- Prepare monthly income statement forecasts and analyze key drivers of performance.
- Lead the budget-to-actual variance analysis process, working closely with department leaders to understand results and provide actionable insights.
- Partner with FP&A and operations teams to improve forecasting accuracy and financial transparency.
- Drive process efficiencies and implement systems improvements to support company growth and scalability.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, providing accounting and financial expertise in support of strategic projects and renewable energy initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation and improved reporting capabilities.
- A minimum of 10 years of related or equivalent experience in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Management and leadership experience required
- Exceptional knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects effectively and simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly communicating complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders, including senior executives and external auditors
- Adaptable, proactive, and self-driven professional comfortable working in dynamic environments
