Job Summary
The Senior Supervisor of Supply Accounting leads a team responsible for all accounting aspects of UGI Utilities' gas and electric purchased fuel costs, including monthly closings, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting. This position is also responsible for the accounting close and reporting for the Electric division. The Senior Supervisor drives process improvements, implements automation initiatives, and ensures SOX compliance while managing supply transactions across both utility divisions. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with the ability to build cross-functional relationships and translate complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the monthly gas supply and electric general ledger closing, analysis and proofs with efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage the gas supply and electric invoice matching process and ensure all invoices are approved and paid timely.
- Supervise and review the monthly and quarterly reconciliation and reporting process. Includes tie-out of financial reporting documents including SEC and PUC filing for gas supply and electric areas.
- Provide accounting expertise and serve as a liaison to Rates and Gas Supply Departments including assistance with the annual PGC filings. Coordinate both internal and external audit data requests.
- Own supply-related SOX process and documents.
- Identify and implement process improvement and standardization projects as well as other duties and projects requested.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration of Accounting.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Public Accounting experience preferred.
