Ellipsis U.S. Onshore ("Ellipsis") is a Dallas-based private energy company focused on the acquisition and development of large, producing oil and gas assets in the United States. Ellipsis is executing on a non-operated strategy throughout the U.S. onshore. Ellipsis’ current assets include 1,500+ wells totaling 20,000 BOE/day across the Permian Basin, Haynesville Shale, and DJ Basin.
Ellipsis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant
to join our growing business. The Senior Accountant will work in partnership with the Director of Accounting and other team members to report accurate financial results while also enhancing the accounting processes to help drive the future growth of the company. The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and is located at our headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
- Work with the Director of Accounting to implement accounting process improvements while leveraging industry best practices.
- Process monthly non-operated revenue checks and JIBs received via EnergyLink.
- Manage monthly taking in-kind gas revenue, including payments to royalty owners and state reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support the monthly close & accrual processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist with annual external financial audit, including fulfilling support requests from auditors.
- Collaborate with land and engineering teams to ensure accurate financial data.
- Participate in variance analysis and engage with Director of Finance in joint interest billing review processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, with work experience at a public accounting firm and/or an oil and gas company being a plus- CPA certification or progress toward is preferred
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills; accuracy and timeliness are essential
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Quorum’s On-Demand Accounting (ODA) platform and EnergyLink integration is a plus
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
- Strong Excel skills
